What was one of the most memorable dreams you had? Why do you think it stuck in your memory? Give yourself one minute to write a response. Starting now...
I had a dream once about a cave and whales and sharks and beautiful powerful sea beasts. They approached me and talked to me, I was with my friends. My closest friends in a beautiful sea cave covered in teal and sparkling sea shine. I think this dream stuck in my head because of the visual images were so powerful of the raging sea and the talking sea beasts and my best friends were there with me. It was beautiful.
I was 8 years old and living in a farmhouse in Palouse, Washington. My brother was having a hard time with his asthma at this point, so I got used to hearing my Mom come up the stairs and check on him several times a night. In this dream, I awoke to what sounded like my Mother coming up the creaky old stairs. I looked and said "Mom, is that you?" The door opened and there was a large Hispanic family gathered around my room's doorway. I sat, eyes huge, terrified at this family that had materialized in my doorway. Suddenly, the mother of the family held out in front of her a freshly born fetus, dripping with the fluid of a new born. The baby shuddered once, and the mother spanked it. I awoke then with a terrifying infant scream in my ears.
Definitely the most horrific and vivid dream I can recall.
Welcome to my blog spot specifically for English 406/L. My objective of this blog is to show the evolution of journaling through personal and expressive transforming into academic and analytical. I plan, also, to examine the variation of my own personal inspirations or stiflings of my writing process and how that effects the product of my writing. I will begin by adding personal journal entries of my own from late night ramblings of insomnia to journal entries from my current leather bound. I will then collect the free writes done in class to display similarities in style. All of these entries will be showcased in different themes. I hope to post prompts to invite my followers to interact in there own one minute free write. Enjoy this space and as always feel free to leave your words.
